by mh., Lead Admin CUNA Instagram, Twitter, YouTube One of the reasons Cagatay inspires so much love and loyalty is the kindness he exudes in his characters and in real life. We have been a part of this fandom for some time and in addition to learning more about the layers of his work, it has been equally gratifying to get to know amazing people across the globe who also admire his work and life values. What better way to unite than through a shared love for someone who impacts the world in a positive way? A few of his Instagram fan accounts got together to spearhead a global fundraising campaign for children with cancer and other special needs, which also coincided with Childhood Cancer Awareness month. It was a wonderful experience to collaborate with fans from Turkey, Pakistan, Romania, Iran, Argentina and Uruguay, and realize that borders and vested interests of sovereign nations become a distant second when we focus on love. We can thank Cagatay for being such a unifying force for #SocialChange with a #GlobalImpact. With donations big and small across many individual donors, we raised more than $3,500 for organizations such as Losev Turkey, UNICEF and St. Jude Children's Hospital. ,During these difficult times of the COVID pandemic and the many ways it has hurt economies and communities, we are pleased to create a spot of positivity in Cagatay's honor. Here is a video put together by Cagatay Ulusoy Worldwide Fans, one of Cagatay's oldest fan accounts and a fellow collaborator for the campaign. The short video acknowledges all the donors and shares their messages for Cagatay. Happy Birthday, Cagatay, on behalf of the organizing team, the donors and all the fans who wishes to honor you.

Cagatay Ulusoy will be turning 30 years old in ten days, on September 23, 2020. For a person so young, Cagatay has impacted the lives of so many through the roles that he has played and how he has chosen to live his life. There is very little doubt that Cagatay is a standout artiste in his peer group, being one of the best ambassadors for Turkey in the entertainment space. His humility and grounded way of life is inspiring in looking inward and focusing on self-growth, being mindful in career choices and philanthropic endeavors. Over the years, Cagatay has supported a number of philanthropic causes, namely childhood cancer and other medical needs, environmental preservation, orphanages and other need-based programs centered on children. In an effort to honor this exemplary young man and the ways he has promoted positive #SocialChange, a few of his most active fan accounts on Instagram and Twitter have collaborated to create a birthday fundraiser whereby fans can support any of the four selected organizations (can be their local chapter) in honor of Cagatay. Just share the receipt with any of the organizers to be counted towards the tally for #GlobalImpact created by Cagatay's fans. We are also collecting a short blurb about why a donor is choosing to support Cagatay's fundraiser, which will be put into a video compilation to be shared with Cagatay and his manager. Donations will have to be made by September 21st to be counted. You can get access to the flyer for the fundraiser here. Last week, the production team for Mucadele Cikmazi wrapped filming. The name of the movie, which translates into “Deadlock of Struggle”, apparently derives from a street name in Istanbul. In a marketing coup yesterday, Netflix and Cagatay had a coordinated strategy to announce that the movie will be available on Netflix in 2021. While Netflix and production company OGM. Pictures announced the news on their social media channels on Instagram and Twitter, Cagatay announced through his guest appearance on Ay Yapim’s new dizi, Menajerimi Ara (“Call My Agent”) where he appeared as himself. Director Can Ulkay shared aesthetically beautiful shots from the sets throughout the filming, but without giving out too many clues about the subject matter. We do know that the plot involves street children, and we have finally seen some photos of Cagatay in a grungy get up, suggesting that he lives on the streets too and may work as a garbage collector. There are mixed reports about him playing the father of one of the street children, and we will have to wait for the official plot summary to better understand his role. What is evident is how he has traded his glamorous good looks to instead look like someone who has many hardships in life. Screenplay writer Ercan Mehmet Erdem (Behzat C.) is no stranger to writing gritty stories and one can only imagine how intricately he will weave this plot. Global fans are excited about having access to the movie through the ubiquitous Netflix, and wishes the team every success with its post-production efforts and final release. The following video provides translations for Cagatay’s skit in Menajeremi Ara, which alludes to his philosophies in life in show business, and very creatively introduces the idea of him looking at the script of Mucadele Cikmazi. As a branding enthusiast, I am very pleased with the coordinated and sophisticated strategy in announcing the future plans for Mucadele Cikmazi. Bring it on! Article copyright (c) CUNA & mh.
